The Discart series are high specification floppy disk cart machines
suitable for on-air applications which are dependent on reliable
equipment operation and immediate playout of audio. With low
running costs, low media costs and high quality digital audio
output, the Discart machines are essential tools for advert,
trail and jingle playout. The Discart machines offer a range
of features suitable for audio playout:
- Large illuminated buttons on the front panel for cut
selection, playback, pause and stop/recue with instant response.
- Bright LCD display showing all the information that a
presenter needs - cut number, cut title, outcue, duration
and cut countdown.
- Different play modes to play, loop, sequence and cue
cuts on single or multiple disks.
- Using "killdates", advertisements can be disabled
if they are played outside defined dates - useful for promotions.
- Balanced analogue and digital AES-EBU inputs and outputs.
These facilities are available together with advanced features
such as switch on diagnostics, default parameter setup, internal
real time clock, top and tail editing to an accuracy of one
thousandth of a second, HDLC data link, RD232 for remote control
with transmission logging and a multitude of other option settings
and default parameters.
The duration of audio recorded to the disks is ideal for storage
on a single floppy and can be varied with each cut - promos,
ads and jingles can be recorded at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz for sparkling
quality, whilst longer speech based news items can be recorded
at 22 kHz providing almost 5.5 minutes of recording.
Disks recorded in any Discart machine can be played out in
any other and up to eight cuts can be recorded to each disk.
